Pet portraits
Capture the quirky character of your beloved pet in a keepsake piece that will help you remember and celebrate them forever.
This isn’t just about faithfully representing your pet’s looks but their personality, too. Sassy, sweet, sensible or silly— these pet portraits will capture the spirit of your furry companion.
HOW IT WORKS
-
POSE and personality
Send me an email with your chosen option from the selection below, along with high-quality photos of your pet and a description of their personality and character. Together we review your photos and decide which shot/s best captures their spirit
-
Sketch
Next I make a simple outline sketch to make sure I have the proportions correct. I only send this through if I feel I need confirmation about some aspect of the image, eg pose or framing.
-
painting
I paint your piece using the source photo and your description as inspiration
-

FAQs
-
For best results I need images that are decent quality with good lighting and accurate colours. (eg not with filters on them or under extreme light or dark conditions)
The better the reference images the better the portrait. And a few extras of different angles never hurts for extra reference.
-
No worries! I can remove details (or add them) like tags or hair in eyes etc. Just let me know what you want omitted.
-
I generally prefer to paint head and shoulders only as it allows me to capture more of the face of the subject but full body sitting can also work well. Mainly I just want to get close enough to the eyes to get some expression in there.

He does try to sit on a lot of my paintings so I could see that as a sign of protest but then again he tries to sit on everything so who really knows!
